A certain aerospace enterprise in 2025At that time, they were facing a severe test: they needed to conduct thickness testing on a batch of critical thin-walled alloy components, most of which had a thickness of only 0.3mm to 0.8mm, and some areas had irregular surface coatings. Traditional thickness measuring equipment could not stably capture signals, resulting in large errors and seriously affecting the product qualification rate and delivery schedule. Before our intervention, the customer had almost tried many conventional thickness gauges on the market, but all failed due to their inability to penetrate coatings or insensitivity to ultra-thin parts. It was in this context that we were contacted, and we recommended and demonstrated TT700's "clutter crossing technology" on site. This technology enables it to measure up to 0.15mm in steel and has the ability to penetrate coating measurements, greatly meeting customers' dual needs for "ultra-thin" and "precision".
In field testing,We first use its single point calibration function to quickly calibrate the standard test block, and then directly measure it on the painted workpiece. The equipment can still stably display the true thickness of the underlying metal, ignoring the interference of surface coatings. With a measurement frequency of up to 15MHz and a resolution of 0.001mm, the subtle differences that were previously obscured by noise are clearly presented, and customer technicians cannot help but admire the stable jumping data on the screen. In addition, the E-mode and E-E mode equipped with the instrument can be flexibly switched according to the material and measurement environment, further ensuring the reliability of data acquisition. We also utilized its sound velocity reverse measurement function to verify the actual sound velocity of the batch of alloy materials on site, providing a key basis for customers to establish more accurate detection standards in the future. Throughout the testing process, the TT700's lightweight body, clear LED backlit display, and ability to work continuously for several hours also earned high praise from on-site operators, especially in cramped and poorly lit cabin environments where its advantages are more prominent. This task not only helped the customer successfully complete the comprehensive quality inspection of the batch of components, screening out multiple hidden dangers with thickness slightly lower than the safety threshold due to corrosion, but more importantly, we assisted them in establishing a set of ultra-thin part detection processes based on TT700, and fully utilized 500 sets of data storage functions for quality traceability. Afterwards, the company purchased multiple TT700 units and designated them as equipment for incoming inspection and in-service monitoring of precision components of this type.
