Recently, we received an urgent request for help from a heavy machinery factory. They have a batch of large drive shafts that need to undergo hardness testing, but these shafts have already been assembled and cannot be disassembled for inspection. Traditional desktop hardness testers are simply not useful. Moreover, the shaft body has a circular arc surface, which ordinary equipment cannot measure stably, and the factory's experienced technicians have also encountered difficulties.

We immediately arrived at the scene with the AG-320 high-precision Leeb hardness tester. For the outer cylindrical surface of the transmission shaft, we have equipped it with Z-series shaped support rings, which can fit the curved surface of the shaft and ensure that the impact direction is always vertical. The engineer directly turned on and measured on site, and the instrument not only automatically recognized the measurement direction, but also converted the Leeb (HL) value into the Rockwell (HRC) value required by their quality inspection report with just one click. The data was displayed clearly on the big screen on the spot.

The entire process was very smooth, with multiple measuring points on one axis completed in just a few minutes.
